How do you find an antiaging product that really works with so many on the market today which are claiming that they do work? How do you get through all the confusion? Good question.

It is not all hopeless. There are some guidelines given here that you can follow:

1. Know your skin. Your skin is the part of your body that is most visibly affected by aging. As such, you must look for a product that would work well with your skin. Products, on their own, are easy enough to distinguish because they indicate which skin types they are best for: normal, dry, oily, combination, or problem skin. Make sure that the antiwrinkle face cream you choose is clearly made for your skin type. If it is not, it may aggravate your skin problem.

2. Try them out before you buy. Most antiwrinkle face creams nowadays offer free trials (through promos or magazine inserts) or come in travel pack sizes, making it convenient for you to try them out first before buying the entire product. Nothing is more disappointing than buying an entire bottle only to find out that it does not work well with your skin. Not only did you waste money on something that does not work, you could have caused your skin damage, too. Avoid all that by trying out a product first.

If you want to try out products that your other friends have already used, then do so, but make sure that you follow certain rules of hygiene. You can share products that come in bottles, never those that have their own applicators. Sharing applicators is like sharing toothbrushes. You may love them and all but you don't share toothbrushes with your friends, right?

What is the product does not work?

Just because it does not work well with your skin does not mean that it is not safe for use. Most, if not all, products available today have been tested by dermatologists to be safe. It may just be a matter of the product not being compatible with your skin. Some people find that even nongreasy moisturizers make their skin oilier faster while some may complain about getting more breakouts even though the product is non comedogenic (does not clog pores). It is different from person to person. If one product does not work for you, it is not the end of the road. Chuck it out and just get yourself a new one until you find what works best for you.

Prevention is better than cure

Get enough sleep, drink eight glasses of water, take your vitamins, use sunscreen, these are just some of the things that a lot of people take for granted while they are young. So by the time they reach their mid twenties, yes, as early as that, a lot of people are already scrambling to turn back the hands of time. Why? Because they do not look like their age. And nobody wants to look like their 40 when their just 26.

If it is already too late and preventive measures can no longer be done, then it is really off to the antiaging counter for you. Just because you are already using a product does not mean you can neglect the basic skin hygiene routine, though. Simple cleansing, toning, and moisturizing is actually enough for some people to get their skin back into shape. If for nothing else, having a skin care regimen can complement the effects of the antiwrinkle face cream you are using, helping hasten results for you.
